The top stories on ABC News. Labor backbencher David Feeney has resigned from the parliament over dual citizenship, prompting a by-election in his marginal Melbourne seat of Batman. It's understood union leader Ged Kearney will be announced as the candidate for Labor in the upcoming by-election. There was a 9.5 per cent swing to the Greens at the last federal election in Batman. The federal police says it has now accounted for most of the national security documents which an audit revealed it had lost over a five year period. The ABC reported yesterday that a department of prime minister and cabinet audit found the AFP had lost almost 400 cabinet files between 2008 and 2013. The agency says 90 per cent of the documents were later found, or had been destroyed. Police investigating the disappearance of Sarah Spiers from Claremont in Perth in 1996 have appealed for the public's help to find a car of interest. Ms Spiers was 18 when she disappeared after a night out with friends. Police believe she was abducted and murdered, but her body has never been found. Two women were later murdered in the same area. And scientists say a new blood test will be able to detect the presence of Alzheimer's disease up to 20 years before symptoms begin. The blood test identifies biological markers in blood plasma that show the buildup of Alzheimer's protein. The discovery will make diagnosing the disease quicker, easier and cheaper. 来自:VOA英语网 文章地址: http://www.tingvoa.com/18/03/540853.html
